Twin-shaft Screw Conveyor
Twin‑shaft Screw Conveyor is a high‑capacity dual‑auger conveying machine equipped with two parallel intermeshing spiral shafts inside one trough housing.Different from single‑shaft screw conveyors with only one spiral rotor, this unit adopts two counter‑rotating spiral blades to push and stir materials simultaneously. It excels at transporting large‑volume bulk materials, while performing preliminary mixing, loosening and breaking of agglomerated lumps. It is widely matched with dust removal ash‑handling systems, solid‑waste treatment plants, chemical batching lines and building‑material processing facilities.Ideal for high‑throughput, semi‑wet, slightly sticky and easy‑caking materials,it delivers both conveying and mixing functions in one compact unit.
Driven by dual reduction motors or synchronized drive assembly, the two parallel spiral shafts rotate toward each other inside the shared U‑shaped trough.Materials entering the feed inlet are captured by two groups of helical blades, pushed forward axially, and continuously stirred in the meantime.Intermeshing spiral movements break up soft agglomerates, prevent material bonding and bridge formation. This dual‑auger design greatly increases effective conveying cross‑section,so it can handle larger throughput compared with equal‑size single‑shaft models.Materials move steadily toward discharge outlets and flow into downstream equipment such as rotary airlock valves, silos or mixing tanks, completing integrated conveying and homogenizing process.
The main trough body can be constructed from carbon steel or stainless steel.Standard carbon‑steel versions receive anti‑rust coating for ash, mineral powder and general industrial residues.304 or 316L stainless steel is available for corrosive, humid or food‑contact materials. Both spiral shafts adopt thickened seamless pipe, and blades are treated with wear‑resistant surfacing to resist abrasion from hard particles.Intermediate hanging bearings and end bearing seats support long‑span installation.Removable top cover plates allow easy access for inspection, cleaning and blockage removal.Multiple inlet and outlet ports can be customized for multi‑point feeding and discharging according to process layout.
Compared with conventional single‑shaft screw conveyors, twin‑shaft design brings distinct functional advantages.Dual‑auger structure provides much higher conveying capacity within similar overall dimensions.Mutual stirring effect loosens caked and damp materials, avoiding material compaction and accumulation inside the trough.Counter‑rotating blades reduce material floating and overflow, improving operational stability. It combines material transportation and simple mixing into one piece of equipment, saving investment for separate mixing machines.Variable‑frequency speed control can be configured to adjust throughput and mixing intensity flexibly to match production requirements.
Key operational reminders:twin‑shaft screw conveyor is suitable for semi‑wet, agglomeration‑prone bulk solids, not recommended for long‑fiber materials which may wind around dual shafts.Hard foreign objects must be prevented from entering the trough to avoid blade collision damage.Overload protection is strongly recommended for dual drive systems.Regular inspection on bearings, seals and blade wear will extend service life and prevent unexpected downtime.
Twin‑shaft Screw Conveyors are widely deployed in dust‑collector ash conveying, chemical powder batching, solid‑waste treatment, cement and building‑material processing, sludge pretreatment and mining auxiliary projects. As high‑capacity conveying‑cum‑mixing equipment,it integrates large throughput, material loosening function and reliable running performance. It provides efficient one‑stop solutions for modern industrial bulk‑material handling systems.
