Rotary Discharge Valve
Rotary Discharge Valve,also referred to as star discharger,is a robust volumetric discharging device installed underneath dust collectors,cyclones,silos and hoppers for continuous removal of powder,dust,granules and small pellet materials.While rotary airlock valves emphasize pressure sealing for pneumatic conveying systems,this rotary discharge valve focuses more on stable and uniform material unloading for gravity‑discharge working conditions.It performs continuous material output rather than simple on‑off isolation.Featuring compact layout,steady rotation and anti‑blocking capability,it is widely adopted in dust‑removal supporting facilities,building‑material production,chemical powder processing and grain handling industries.
Driven by geared reduction motor,the multi‑pocket rotor rotates at low constant speed inside the valve housing.Bulk materials fall down from upper equipment into rotor chambers.As the rotor turns,material‑filled compartments rotate to the bottom discharge opening,and materials drop out by gravity.Rotor blades then return to the upper feeding side to receive a new batch of materials,forming uninterrupted cyclic discharging.The precise fit between rotor and housing can also deliver basic air‑locking effect,reducing a large amount of outside‑air inflow into negative‑pressure dust chambers,so as to maintain the working efficiency of dust‑removal equipment.
The valve housing can be cast from ductile iron,carbon steel or stainless steel according to medium features.For highly abrasive media such as mineral powder and cement dust,wear‑resistant surfacing or inner lining is optional to resist particle scuffing.Inlet and outlet flanges are available in square or round forms,convenient for direct connection under bag filters and storage bins.Bearings are externally arranged to avoid direct contact with fine dust,preventing shaft abrasion and dust leakage.Multiple rotor structures include standard type,anti‑jamming type and high‑temperature customized version for different process requirements.
Compared with gate‑type unloading equipment,rotary discharge valve brings obvious advantages for continuous‑discharge scenarios.It avoids intermittent dumping,material bridging and blockage that often occur with slide gate valves.Material output volume can be adjusted by variable‑frequency motor to match actual processing capacity.Its compact vertical structure occupies little installation height,which is perfect for limited‑space layout of dust‑removal sites.Wearing parts are easy to inspect and replace,without complicated disassembly of the whole unit,lowering maintenance workload and production downtime.
There are key points for daily operation.This valve suits free‑flowing dry bulk materials.Wet,sticky or agglomerated materials may lead to rotor jamming.Overload protection device is recommended to protect drive components from hard foreign debris.Users should check rotor clearance regularly;excessive gaps will weaken discharging stability and basic air‑locking performance.Long‑term running requires periodic inspection of bearings and seals.
