What concentration of VOCs is suitable for catalytic combustion integrated machine?

Catalytic combustion integrated machine(CO)has strict requirements on inlet VOCs concentration,covering thermal self‑sustainment and explosion‑proof safety limits.It is divided into direct‑processing mode and concentration‑desorption supporting mode,with different applicable concentration ranges.

For**direct processing of raw waste gas by catalytic combustion integrated machine**:

The optimal working concentration range is**500‑3000 mg/m³**.Within this interval,heat released by VOC oxidation can basically maintain catalyst reaction temperature,and the electric heater only works in the startup phase to realize self‑heat balance and low energy consumption.

-If VOC concentration is below 200 mg/m³:Heat release from oxidation is insufficient.The electric heater has to keep running continuously,leading to high power consumption.Direct catalytic combustion is not economical.Such low‑concentration large‑air‑volume waste gas needs to be matched with activated‑carbon adsorption box or zeolite rotor for concentration before entering catalytic combustion equipment.

-If VOC concentration exceeds 5000 mg/m³:Excessive reaction heat will cause sharp temperature rise inside catalytic chamber,resulting in catalyst sintering,over‑temperature damage and equipment thermal deformation.

For the**desorbed concentrated gas coming from activated‑carbon adsorption box**:

After desorption,air volume decreases and VOCs are concentrated.The suitable inlet concentration for catalytic combustion integrated machine is**2000‑8000 mg/m³**.This high‑concentration small‑flow waste gas can easily achieve thermal self‑sustainment.

**Critical safety limit**:Regardless of working mode,the inlet VOC concentration must be strictly controlled**below 25%LEL(Lower Explosive Limit)**of mixed waste gas,which is the mandatory safety threshold for preventing explosion risk.When concentration exceeds 10%LEL,the system shall trigger alarm and interlock protection.Fresh‑air dilution should be adopted when actual concentration is too high,never let waste gas exceed safety limit enter catalytic chamber.

Other influencing notes:Even within suitable concentration range,waste gas must remove dust,paint mist and oil mist through pre‑filter.Waste gas containing sulfur,phosphorus,halogen and silicone substances will poison catalyst permanently,not suitable for catalytic combustion integrated machine.If the concentration fluctuates greatly in production,online VOC monitoring and automatic fresh‑air dilution system shall be equipped to stabilize inlet concentration.
